So Kids react to Kpop
so I’m gonna give my 2 cents on this video.
-First of all these are kids. Kids who have obviously not been exposed to much because lets face it, there is only so much you know at 10 years old
-They compare to Lady Gaga because thats all they know… And anything else thats on AMERICAN TV
- Anything that you thought was super racist noticed it came from MOST of the white kids and the other kids were a little more opened minded about it. (yeah, bite me! I said it!)
NEWS FLASH to anyone who thinks SNSD will do well in the USA. No, its not going to work. As closed minded and racist as it may seem some of these kids were right “They all look the same” more than 5 people in a girl/boy group is too much for America to stomach and more than 5 Asian girls? Sorry, if you are not used to Asian faces it could be very confusing for the rest of America.
Give JYP and the one girl credit though. She DID know who the Wonder Girls were. And thumbs up for the one black kid who guessed Korea instead of Japan like everyone else. I was glad someone did guess Vietnam. creative
These kids were on point when it came to the industry. “Man I would still want life as a kid” or “I guess you have to give up your life in order to be an icon” and “So basically they are puppets. Well, I hope they get paid well” -SPOT FUCKING ON!
The best part was ”Uh… most pop stars do (write their own music) don’t they?” In deed you are right! A good portion of AMERICAN pop stars/Artist DO write their own music but what you just watched was a bunch of IDOLS. That my friend is the difference between an artist and an idol. Why the hell do you think Akanishi Jin left KAT-TUN? To be an ARTIST!
I love the one girls comment though “it really bugs me when Asian people dye their hair blonde because it looks so fake” As someone who lives in Tokyo and see this everyday, I have to agree. It doesn’t look fake as much as it looks dead. If your going to dye your hair, use some other product that wont make you bald in 1 year. Real talk. Safe chemicals people please.
The one kid who says he hates his generation so much and he wishes he was born in the 1980’s… its the people born in the early 80s writing their music for them and marketing them. Good or bad, they are raking in the paper! So kid if you were basically my age or older you would be saying to your self, “Shit, I need a job at SM Entertainment to pay off these student loans” and that was a thought that came across my mind last week
And lastly I feel sorry for these kids. They are entitled to their opinions and thats what Americas about. You can’t force people to like something. Thats WHY we all have different taste in music. I feel sorry that they spoke out about K-pop because now they will be getting death threats left and right. Can’t fuck with K-pop fandom…
